This summer my daughter and I spend a week in Tanzania equipping and honoring women. It was a jammed packed week full of adventure! We were there supporting our friends James and Didi Myers who are full-time missionaries there. They were amazing hosts. They made sure we fully experienced as much as we could the short time that we were there. Find out more about their ministry at: http://1520unreached.com/
They took us to the city of Morogoro for a hike in the beautiful mountains. We had an opportunity to be honored guests at a Masai village where they prepared a goat for us. It was hanging on a tree being skinned as we arrived. (Oh Yippee!) We enjoyed the beauty of the Indian Ocean as we spent a day at the beach. And we spent hour upon hour driving through Tanzania, taking in the sights and sounds and eating the local foods. (LOTS of carbs! You don’t do gluten-free or paleo here! Thankfully, I wasn’t trying to do either, so I enjoyed myself. )
But the most amazing, and unforgettable thing about Tanzania are the people. They are beautiful, warm and hospitable. Honestly, they treated us like royalty! I actually had a hard time with that.
I hope to return again in 2016. This time I hope to reach even more women. What a joy to spend time teaching, encouraging and honoring ladies–especially moms. But this time, I want to include some fun activities. Moms seldom get to have FUN! So I want to add some art activities and maybe even bring some perfumes or finger nail polish or something to pamper the ladies. We’ll see. Thank you for each of you who have prayed and supported us. The ladies of Tanzania send their thanks!
Enjoy the photos from our Tanzanian Adventure!
