I think most of us understand the value of exercise in keeping the body strong and healthy, but did you know that exercise is essential for healthy brain development, and to keep a strong, sharp mind?

Ok, let’s get real.
What parent dreams about their child becoming a street sweeper? Hmm… I’m going to go out on a limb here and say, not many of us. (even if they are GREAT street sweepers) But doesn’t someone have to sweep the streets? I know you’re thinking it. Well, of course, the losers sweep streets, not the hard working and the well educated. No one chooses to sweep streets, do they?
So as we prepare our children for their future, what are we preparing them for? Greatness! We want them to do things that are marvelous, spectacular, amazing… We want them to be successful.
So what is success?
We live in a time where we know more about the world we live in than we’ve ever known. Scientists can study the inner workings of our body. They have made amazing discoveries about the human brain, and how it works. With these new discoveries, scientists have been able to validate many of the ancient observations about humanity. They’ve also been able to debunct a few myths. We actually can teach an old dog new tricks. It just takes alot more effort and time!
Now what does this have to do with children?
I am so thankful for a new year. A new year represents a new beginning.
Starting over.
Hitting the reset button.
Second, third, and fourth chances.
New opportunities.
It’s an a great time to look a life with fresh eyes.
